Here therapy is the vulnerable practice of sharing your story with someone who is listening, holding, and honoring all of who you are and what you're carrying in the room.
There is power in telling your story and saying the hard things out loud. There's even more power in doing that with a licensed clinician who can support you in seeking and receiving healing, acceptance, and change.

Dejanae McCarthy, LCSW or Deja has a heart for community and sees the therapy space as one way she can connect and support the people around her. She has worked with people from diverse walks of life and backgrounds. She has a unique gift for supporting people navigating stress, life changes, anxiety, grief, and trauma. She models much of the practices she shares in her own life and will often say in session, "I know it's easier said then done" as she challenges you to try a new coping skill or habit to support your needs. Come with your story and your goals. We will work together to seek the healing and change you're ready for. If you have the courage to share your story and seek more than your current experience, then with me you will receive a teammate who will empower you toward every goal you set for yourself.
Relationships are a beautiful and sometimes challenging dance of connection and communication. I can support your relationship by giving you a safe space to make vulnerable attempts at communication. Connection can be maintained even through hard conversations!
Supporting teens and adolescents truly takes a village and I'd like to join yours as you care for the young person in your life. As a team, we can get them the tools and resources that meets their needs and grounds them in their support system.
